Lisa Ruska

Institutional Giving Manager

Lisa Ruska is the Institutional Giving Manager at For The People, where she supports foundation and philanthropy fundraising strategies, including grant writing, research, cultivation, and grants management.

Prior to joining For The People, Lisa previously worked as the Foundations Manager for the American Immigration Council, where she built grants management systems and was the sole person in charge of research, cultivation, stewardship, and writing of all LOIs, proposals, and reports. Before that, Lisa worked in development and grants roles at organizations covering a diverse range of issues—including immigration, veterans affairs, health research and advocacy, as well as international and domestic refugee resettlement.

Lisa holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. In her free time, Lisa enjoys traveling, reading, walking with her dogs, and experimenting with different recipes. She currently resides in Dallas, TX with her husband and their two dogs, Comet and Kona.
