Valerie serves as Office Assistant at For The People, where she supports daily operations to ensure the team’s work advances effectively and efficiently. She was drawn to the organization after seeing how lengthy sentences can impact families and communities long-term. Motivated by her belief in dignity, fairness, and second chances, Valerie is committed to supporting work that expands opportunity and safely brings people home.

Prior to joining For The People, Valerie held a range of roles that reflect her dedication to service and community. She worked in financial aid, helping students access resources to pursue higher education. At Aramark, she contributed to the development of interactive reentry resource maps designed to support individuals returning home from incarceration. As a Fellow with CROP, she strengthened her digital literacy skills, earning G-Suite certifications and helping others build confidence using technology. She also supports event programming at BLOC15, contributing to gatherings that bring community members together for meaningful occasions. Across roles, Valerie has demonstrated a consistent commitment to expanding access, fostering community, and creating pathways for people to thrive.

Earlier in her career, Valerie worked as an in-home service provider, earning recognition for her reliability and care. She is currently completing her Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and is a devoted mother to her imaginative 10‑year‑old daughter. Valerie’s dedication to continued growth and education reflects her commitment to building a strong future for her family and community.
