Loella Disto is the Digital Content Specialist at For The People, where they are responsible for content creation and management across all digital channels.

Before joining For The People, Loella was the Program Specialist at the Community Youth Center of San Francisco’s Young Asian Women Against Violence (YAWAV). There, they built programming for Asian American LGBTQIA+ youth on gendered violence, cultural empowerment, and youth leadership skills.

Loella’s passions lie at the intersections of equity, community engagement, and the arts. Loella received their undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in English and Ethnic Studies. Previously involved in organizing and multicultural spaces, community has always been at the heart of their work. Leading design and outreach for BIPOC literary magazines furthered the passion for digital creativity with an impact. Loella continues to be involved with Filipino and LGBTQIA+ communities and organizations in the Bay Area.

Loella is proud to be from Davao City, Philippines, and spent much of their childhood in Buffalo, New York. They love food, spending time in nature, biking, hammocking, journaling, and photography. They live in Berkeley with their cat, Izzie.
