Destiny Breda

Destiny Breda is a Legal Extern at For The People, where she assists the Legal Team with case review, document drafting, and case presentations in support of Prosecutor-Initiated Resentencing. Destiny came to this role after working in the Racial Justice Clinic at her law school, the University of San Francisco School of Law. Destiny’s time in her school’s clinic allowed her to learn more about post-conviction and criminal defense work.

Prior to For The People, Destiny worked closely with post-conviction criminal defense attorneys on a wide variety of cases, including parole, commutations, and Prosecutor-Initiated Resentencing in California. Destiny also had the opportunity to provide support on wrongful convictions cases from jurisdictions outside of California.

Before that, Destiny worked on civil law, supporting attorneys on consumer matters, including cases involving debt collection, real estate fraud, criminal system debt, and bankruptcy.

Destiny holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology from San Diego State University.
